Museum offers 'the drive of yo
The chance to drive an expensive supercar is the unaffordable stuff of dreams for many people. But this weekend, Haynes International Motor Museum helped make the dream become a reality. For the first time, the Sparkford visitor attraction was offering the chance to drive a Porsche Boxter, Caterham 7 or Honda rally car. Tim Vaughan, from the museum, said it had been hugely popular. "It gives people a real chance to drive a car they might not otherwise be able to," he said. "There's an instructor in the car to keep an eye on things and make sure everything is OK." On bank holiday Monday, the venue also welcomed Jamie Squibb, a three-times British freestyle motocross champion, and co-stunt rider Neil Kirby. The pair performed an array of heart-stopping aerial stunts and then staged a freestyle jumping competition. Mr Vaughan said it had been a promising start to the season. "It's hard to predict how a season is going to go, but we seem to be doing pretty well, so it's fingers crossed for the rest of the season," he said.
