Title: OK Mozart Music Festival 2010
Tags: Celtic Spring
Blog Entry:      My husband and I have heard about Bartlesville’s OK Mozart Festival for several years, but haven’t ever taken the time to drive the 70 or so miles to find out what is available at this festival.   Unlike most festivals, where the streets are full of people going from booth to booth or stage to stage this festival is held at various areas around town.   For example, from 11:00 to noon today (Sunday) a person could choose to go to the First United Methodist Church for Mozart Sunday with Paul Saik or the Festival Worship at the First Presbyterian Church.   I would highly recommend that you go to the festival’s website, http://www.okmozart.com/category.php?cat=4 , and check the 2010 Calendar prior to heading to Bartlesville!   There’s definitely something for everyone, but if you don’t know where the events are located you could travel to Bartlesville and then not have any idea what’s available or where to locate the events.      We decided to attend the Celtic Spring concert that started at 2:00 and lasted until around 4:00.   Celtic Spring consists of Elizabeth and Greg Wood and their 6 children.   The children play the fiddle and step dance while Elizabeth plays keyboards and Greg plays percussion.   It’s not hard to understand how Celtic Spring made it to the top five on American’s Got Talent, first season, after watching the footwork involved with Step Dancing as well as hearing their music.   The most amazing part of the show was seeing them play their fiddles while step dancing!   You can find out more about this amazing group at http://www.celticspringband.com/ .
