If you ever get the chance to drive Highway 87 through northern Arizona, you'll probably come across a little town called Pine. Stop! They have the most wonderful restaurant called The Randall House. It originally was a house owned by the Randall family, who were pioneers to that part of the country, and Mrs. Randall loved to invited people to her house for meals. The restaurant now serves gourmet food in an area where old fashioned meat and potatoes is standard fare. I've really enjoyed my Saturday morning drives on the winding road through the world's largest stand of Ponderosa pines north from Payson to Pine to enjoy food in the only place around that truely understands how to buy, cook and serve vegetables and fuit! And, if pancakes are more to your liking, drive 3 more miles to Strawberry, where the Strawberry Lodge offers some of the best pancakes around - with delicious coffee grown locally at Fossil Creek.
