A FEW weeks ago I was sitting in St George's Square. The sun was shining and I was eating my bread and dripping (just bought from Mitchell's up Railway Street).
The fountains were like spray on Blackpool front and the statue of Sir Harold Wilson, Labour MP and PM, seemed to be beckoning me into the Hotel Metropole. I felt as if I was on my holidays.
One other thing - I think it's wonderful the Cafe Nero engaging a musician in the coffee bar. All this might seem irrelevant to many, but I think we should be proud of our town and congratulate at least some of its enlightened entrepreneurs.
